Claire’s Stores Inc. has named Scott Huckins executive vice president and chief financial officer.
Huckins joins Claire’s from Sears Holdings where he was vice president, treasurer and president for Sears Reinsurance, a wholly owned captive reinsurance firm. He also has experience in the global treasury and capital markets.
Ron Marshall, chief executive officer of Claire’s, said that in addition to Huckins’ capital markets background, he fits into the “new Claire’s culture that, together, we are creating.”
Huckins, who started his new position on Wednesday, reports to Marshall.
Claire’s last month completed a bond swap that gave it some breathing room through the holiday selling season.
The company was cited in last month’s Fitch Ratings report as one of seven U.S. retailers with significant default risk within the next 12 to 24 months. The report was from Fitch’s leverage finance team.
