PARIS — Continuing to move its pawns into place, Clergerie has named Foussi Youcef global wholesale director, effective May 14.

Youcef, who boasts over 20 years’ experience in accessories, namely in the footwear category, for both men’s and women’s, joins the brand from Ann Demeulemeester and Haider Ackermann, where he was merchandiser and sales director for footwear and accessories. Before that, Youcef was wholesale director and merchandiser for footwear at Maison Margiela, where he worked from 2004 to 2016.

The appointment comes amid a dynamic new era for the heritage French footwear brand with a fledgling chief executive officer, Perry Oosting, at the helm and David Tourniaire-Beauciel — one of the industry’s most influential footwear designers — heading up the collections.

Earlier this month the brand launched an e-commerce site and a revamped web site.

Oosting, who joined the First Heritage Brands-owned house in April 2017, said the new e-boutique will serve as a digital window into the work of Tourniaire-Beauciel, who succeeded Roland Mouret a month after Oosting’s arrival at the house. Tourniaire-Beauciel also designs the footwear for Balenciaga.
