MILAN Italian cosmetics manufacturer Collistar on Monday appointed Luigi Rivetti as its new international director. Rivetti succeeds Marcio Dos Santos, who exited the company after nearly two years.

A graduate in economics and commerce, Rivetti joins from the Italian leading personal and household care company Paglieri, while previous roles saw him managing branches and export divisions for a range of firms, including French beauty player Orlane.

In his new role, Rivetti will lead the international expansion of the Collistar brand and he will report directly to the company’s chief executive officer, Daniela Sacerdote.

The Collistar ceo said in a statement she believes the new executive “will give a powerful boost to our international sector, which has constantly grown in recent years, taking it into the next phase of development.”

In 2017, Collistar had sales of 200 million euros and remained Italy’s top-selling prestige brand for the 15th consecutive year, according to the NPD market research firm’s data. Italy accounted for 70 percent of its revenues, while Russia and the Netherlands were its largest export markets.

Collistar has been owned by the Bolton Group, based in Italy, since 1993.
