Coty Inc. is making changes to top management.

The beauty firm has named former Mars Inc. executive Patrice de Talhouet as the firm’s chief financial officer, effective early 2014. He will replace Sergio Pedreiro, who will stay on through March 2014 to complete Coty’s fiscal 2014 second-quarter earnings release and aid the transition.

“I am very excited to welcome Patrice as Coty’s new cfo,” said Coty chief executive officer Michele Scannavini. “Patrice has a deep, well-rounded profile and a proven, successful track record in leading large financial operations with premier multinational corporations. He will be a strong addition to our executive team.”

The appointment marks the second major change to Coty’s leadership team over the last several years. The firm’s former ceo stepped down from his post on Aug. 1, 2012. Coty went public in June.

Prior this appointment at Coty, de Talhouet served as corporate finance officer, Americas, and a member of the finance executive committee at Mars Inc. There he is credited with leading a multiyear program to improve the company’s global finance function, overseeing governance and compliance in the region and serving as dean of Mars University for finance. He previously was cfo Europe for Mars Global Chocolate. Prior to Mars, his experience includes senior financial posts at Alcatel-Lucent. He began his career at Société Générale.

Pedreiro, for his part, joined Coty in 2009, and served as cfo during the company’s initial public offering this year.
