NEW YORK — Laura Pomerantz has joined Cushman & Wakefield as vice chairman and head of strategic accounts, effective immediately.
Pomerantz has been principal and founding partner of Laura Pomerantz Real Estate LLC since April 2013. She expects to be joined by five professionals from her firm, including longtime associates Betty Ende and Ilyssa Schwartzberg. Pomerantz said she plans to keep her own company operating for the foreseeable future since she has more than 50 transactions to close.
In her new role, Pomerantz will lead Cushman & Wakefield’s newly formed Strategic Accounts group and be responsible for growing relationships for the firm. She will be based at 1290 Avenue of the Americas here.
Pomerantz believes that her clients will benefit from the association with Cushman & Wakefield because of their resources in research and financial analysis. “Those are things that boutique firms like mine have to outsource,” she said.
At Cushman & Wakefield, Pomerantz will conduct all aspects of real estate, including retail, office, investment sales and purchases. “I will be helping them develop strategic accounts, that could be corporations, retailers, American companies, European companies, Chinese companies — all kinds of accounts that need real estate services,” she said.
With nearly 20 years of commercial real estate experience, Pomerantz has completed more than 8 million square feet of office and retail assignments for clients ranging from Tom Ford and Giorgio Armani to Hudson’s Bay Co. and Tory Burch. She is also the exclusive and national representative for Ted Baker/London, Scoop, Levi Strauss & Co. and Vince Camuto and has represented Abercrombie & Fitch for its flagships in the U.S. and internationally.
Prior to forming Laura Pomerantz Real Estate, Pomerantz was principal and cofounder of PBS Real Estate and PBS/Gold Ventures. She also served as senior managing director at Newmark & Co. Real Estate. She was executive vice president for The Leslie Fay Co. for 18 years, serving on their board.
