Former top Saks Fifth Avenue executive Denise Incandela has joined Ralph Lauren Corp. as president of global digital and global e-commerce, WWD has learned.

Incandela, formerly executive vice president and chief marketing officer of Saks, will replace Eric Korman, who will be leaving the company following a transition period.

Incandela will report to Jackwyn L. Nemerov, president and chief operating officer, and David Lauren, executive vice president of global advertising, marketing and communications.

At Saks, Incandela was instrumental in building up Saks Direct, and getting Saks to become more omnichannel and exposed on the Web. She’s a strong advocate of data analytics to scrutinize consumers’ shopping habits and preferences, one-to-one and “life-cycle” marketing and mobile devices.

Incandela left Saks, along with most of the store’s top management, after it was purchased by Hudson’s Bay Co. in the fall for $2.9 billion. HBC promptly installed a new top team.

Incandela joined Saks in 1999 and held the titles of senior vice president of business development, group senior vice president of Saks Fifth Avenue and executive vice president. Prior to joining Saks, she was a consultant at McKinsey & Co., working in the retail practice and with Saks, which was a client. Korman was tapped as president of Ralph Lauren digital and global e-commerce in 2011.
