Aerosoles Group has named Denise Incandela as its new chief executive officer.
Former ceo and president R. Shawn Neville will take on the post of executive chairman. Aerosoles said he has relocated to Colorado for family reasons, but will remain with the company and partner with Palladin Consumer Retail Partners, the majority owner of footwear specialty chain.
Incandela has also been appointed to the company’s board. She has extensive experience in the fashion and retail industry. Incandela was president of Ralph Lauren Global Digital and CIEM, leading the company’s $700 million global consumer direct business. Before joining Ralph Lauren Corp., Incandela was at Saks Fifth Avenue for 14 years, holding senior roles that include executive vice president and chief marketing officer, as well as executive vice president and president of Saks Direct. While at Saks Direct, Incandela built the $1 billion digital business from the ground up. Incandela is also the former leader of McKinsey & Co.’s retail practice.
Incandela is also on the boards of CST Brands Inc. and the Animal Care Centers of NYC. She is also on the Industry Advisory Board for The Wharton School’s Baker Retailing Center. Incandela received an MBA from the Wharton Business School and a bachelor of science from Boston College.
Neville said, “Denise has an outstanding track record of success in senior executive positions with premier fashion companies and brands in both retail and e-commerce.”
Incandela said she will “leverage my branding, merchandising, retail and e-commerce experience to lead Aerosoles into its next phase of growth.”
Palladin Consumer Retail Partners, a private equity firm, acquired the footwear chain for an undisclosed amount in June 2014. The acquisition included the Aerosoles brands Aerosoles, A2, Aerology and What’s What. Based in Edison, N.J., the specialty chain is known for its proprietary comfort technologies. Neville joined as ceo in September 2015.
Mark Schwartz, ceo of Palladin, said, “We are fortunate to have two industry leaders in Shawn and Denise with the company and I am very confident that we will continue to make major strides in realizing the potential for the brand and business.”
