Nike alumnus Duke Stump has been appointed to the new post of executive vice president of community and brand at Lululemon Athletica Inc.

Stump, who will be responsible for “continuing to build an authentic and differentiated global brand and community experience and amplifying Lululemons global impact,” will join the company Dec. 1 and report to Laurent Potdevin, chief executive officer.

After spending two decades with Nike and Easton Sports, Stump in 2006 became chief marketing officer of Seventh Generation, a firm focused on corporate social responsibility, and in 2008 moved to The Northstar Manifesto. Northstar is dedicated to the development of “bonfire” brands that emphasize profitability, growth and sustainability.

Stump will relocate to the Vancouver area, where Lululemon is based, from Ojai, Calif.
