Edmond Thomas is joining Tilly’s Inc. again for his second tour of duty as president and chief executive officer.
Thomas, who most recently served as ceo of Wet Seal from September 2014 to August 2015, was president and co-ceo of Tilly’s from September 2005 to October 2007. He left Tilly’s for his first tour at Wet Seal as president and ceo from October 2007 to January 2011. When he left Wet Seal, he joined private equity firm KarpReilly until August 2014, when he rejoined the teen retailer.
Thomas succeeds Daniel Griesemer on Oct. 12. Griesemer stepped down as president and ceo on Oct. 7.
The company didn’t disclose Griesemer’s reasons for leaving the company.
Hezy Shaked, Tilly’s executive chairman, cited how Thomas’ “broad-ranging operational and strategic experience” and leadership skills make him the “ideal choice to lead the company into the future.”
Thomas said the company has a strong history of success and leadership in the fashion and action sports industry, adding that Thomas will build upon that foundation.
