Elana Drell-Szyfer, Ahava’s chief exective officer of North America, has been appointed ceo of Ahava worldwide, succeeding Yacov Ellis, who will pursue other opportunities after a decade in the job. Drell-Szyfer will assume her new position on Sept. 1.
During Drell-Szyfer’s two-and-a-half-year tenure as acting group chief operating officer and ceo of Ahava North America, she repositioned and relaunched the brand in 2011. Since the relaunch, the brand has experienced double-digit growth in all of its key U.S. retail partners.
In her new role, Drell-Szyfer will report to the board of directors and be charged with continued growth of the company outside of Israel, entry into China and the establishment of a European affiliate, as well as increasing operational capabilities and efficiencies.
