Christophe Chenut and Chris Gay.

Model management company Elite World has named Christophe Chenut and Chris Gay co-chief executive officers. Appointed by the company’s board — gathered a month ago — the two executives will work jointly and share responsibilities for the business, aiming to consolidate and strengthen the group’s leading worldwide position in the industry.

Succeeding John Hooks in the role, both Chenut and Gay have inked an open-ended contract and will report to the company’s board.

Former ceo at Lacoste Group, with past experiences leading L’Equipe Group and DDB France Group, Chenut will be based in Paris, from where he will follow the company’s corporate activities, in particular. Gay will be operating in New York, where he previously was Women Model Management’s chief executive officer and Marilyn Models Inc.’s president. In the past three years, Gay was president of The Society Management, which is a division of Elite World along with Elite, Women Management, Supreme and W360 agencies.

Gay has managed and helped to build the careers of some of the most renowned supermodels, such as Adriana Lima, Liu Wen, Kendall Jenner and Willow Smith.

Experienced in discovering and developing international modeling talents, Elite World has represented thousands of models across the world since its foundation in Paris in 1972, including Cindy Crawford, Stephanie Seymour, Gisele Bündchen, Linda Evangelista, Helena Christensen, Alessandra Ambrosio, Malgosia Bela, Magdalena Frackowiak, Karmen Pedaru and Constance Jablonski, among others.
