A pair of reading glasses from Eyebobs

Eyebobs has tapped Michael Magerman as its first chief executive officer.

Magerman will focus on growing the eyewear company, which is best known for its affordable reading glasses priced around $75. It was founded in 2001 by Julie Allinson.

Magerman most recently served as president and ceo of Quickie Manufacturing Company, a cleaning tools manufacturer. Before that he founded Odyssey Golf, which produced golf putters. He sold the business to Callaway Golf in 1997.

“Eyebobs is a fun and exciting company with passionate people, great product and loyal customers. I look forward to helping lead and execute the next phase of Eyebobs’ growth,” Magerman said.

Eyebobs is based in Minneapolis and sold at a variety of retailers including Bloomingdale’s, Orvis and Neiman Marcus.
