Accessories firm Francesca’s Holdings Corp. has appointed Philip Bleser as a member of its board.
The appointment is effective April 17. Bleser, a former banker, will serve on the board’s audit and compensation committees.
Rick Kunes, chairman of Francesca’s board, said, “Phil’s deep experience in managing one of the world’s largest banks will tremendously benefit the company.”
Bleser has extensive experience as a banker in the middle market apparel sector. Bleser joined J.P. Morgan Chase & Co. in 1974 at its predecessor bank Manufacturers Hanover Trust Co. He went on to join the Middle Market Banking group from 1984 to 2003. Before he retired last year, Bleser was chairman of Global Corporate Banking from April 2015 to July 2016. Before that he was chief executive officer of Global Corporate Bank in North America from 2010-15, and ceo of Mid-Corporate Banking from 2003-10. The Mid-Corporate Banking Group provided banking services to companies in the U.S. and Canada with annual sales volume over $500 million. Bleser is a member of the board of trustees of Pace University in New York. From 2011 to 2016, he was board member of Private Export Funding Corp., where he also served on the audit and compensation and development committees.
Bleser is a triple alumnus of Pace University’s Lubin School of Business. He earned an associate in Applied Science in 1981, a bachelor’s of Business Administration in 1984 and a master’s of Business Administration in 1994.
