PARIS — The Fédération Française de la Couture du Prêt-à-Porter des Couturiers et des Créateurs de Mode has appointed Frédéric Galinier director of legal, social and institutional affairs.
He succeeds Sylvie Zawadzki, who is parting ways with the federation after a 40-year career there spanning various positions. Since 2006, she was its general delegate.
Galinier, who took up his position on Nov. 28, previously was a lawyer for the Paris National Opera and for four years worked in the intellectual property section of Groupe Hermès International’s legal department, during which he collaborated with the fashion federation’s legal commission. Prior to that he served for eight years as chief legal officer at Groupe Prisma Media.
Galinier obtained a master’s degree in private law and a DEA diploma in communications law from the University of Paris II Panthéon-Assas as well as a DESS postgraduate diploma in law and management of written press from the Institute of Political Studies in Rennes, France.
