Gap Inc. named Tracy Gardner to its board to take effect Nov. 11.
This past year, Gardner served as an adviser to the Gap brand “offering creative support to Gap’s new leadership team, led by global brand president Jeff Kirwan,” the retailer said in a statement. “She held a similar role in 2012, working alongside Gap Inc. chief executive officer Art Peck, who was then leading a product and business resurgence as president of Gap North America.”
From 2004 to 2010, Gardner served in various roles at J. Crew Group Inc., and from 2013 to 2014 worked as an industry consultant as well as chief executive officer of Delia’s Inc. Prior to that Gardner held several positions at Gap Inc., which she joined in 1991.
“With more than 30 years of experience, [Gardner] is an accomplished merchant, creative adviser and leader in growing multichannel brands,” said Bob Fisher, chairman of the board. “[Gardner]’s deep product expertise will bring a powerful creative voice to our already accomplished board.”
Gardner is the 11th board member and the fourth woman on the Gap Inc. board, the company added.
