HONG KONG — Global Brands Group Holding Limited has named Jason Weisenfeld president of Seven Global, the group’s new joint venture with David Beckham and Simon Fuller.

Weisenfeld’s résumé includes past jobs at Coach Inc., Net-a-porter and Versace.

Global Brands said that Weisenfeld will oversee the development of the Beckham brand globally in “multiple consumer product categories.” The company, a spinoff of Li & Fung Ltd., said Weisenfeld will also work on the development of other brands in partnership with other sports and entertainment stars.

Weisenfeld was a member of the original team that launched Victoria Beckham’s brand and has already worked with her husband David on several fashion-related projects, Global Brands said.

“Jason has been a friend and trusted adviser of mine for over 10 years. I have seen his results firsthand,” said David Beckham.

Bruce Rockowitz, chief executive officer and vice chairman of GBG, praised Weisenfeld’s “proven track record in building world-class brands, from launching new businesses, to advising prestigious brands and fashion industry icons on their development.”

Dow Famulak, president of GBG, added, “Jason’s leadership skills and innovative vision will be crucial in achieving our goals for Seven Global.”

Beckham and Fuller are 50-50 partners with Global Brands in the joint venture. The Hong Kong-based company revealed the deal late last year, explaining that the entity would build a series of new celebrity-driven brands spanning various product categories including fashion, food and electronics.
