Hudson’s Bay Co. has appointed Dan Caspersen executive vice president of human resources, succeeding Stephen Cerrone.
Caspersen will report directly to the office of the chairman, which consists of Richard Baker, executive chairman and governor, and Jerry Storch, chief executive officer.
Previously, Caspersen was senior vice president of human resources for the Miami Dolphins football team. Earlier, he oversaw global human resources at Toys ‘R’ Us where he led all human resources functions including staffing, employee relations, training, development, compensation and benefits for more than 20 countries worldwide. He was also responsible for corporate communications and the consolidation of Toys ‘R’ Us and Babies ‘R’ Us. Before Toys ‘R’ Us, Caspersen spent 25 years at Target Corp. developing and implementing cross-company human resources practices.
“Developing a world-class leadership team is an important part of positioning our company for long-term success,” said Storch, a former ceo of Toys ‘R’ Us and a former Target vice chairman.
