Hugo Boss is bringing back Thorsten Link, a former sales manager for the brand, to run things in central Europe, including in the increasingly difficult but important German home market.
A spokesman for the company told WWD that Link will officially take up the position of managing director, Central Hub, on July 1. Although there might be some differences between his responsibilities and those of his predecessor, Marcus Meyer, there likely won’t be any major changes to the role, the spokesman said.
His territory includes Germany, Austria, Switzerland and some Eastern European countries, including Poland. But Link’s focus will doubtless be on Germany, where Hugo Boss has recently been underperforming.
Until recently, Link managed Switzerland’s largest men’s wear brand, Strellson, and before that, ran denim brand Diesel’s Western European operations. Previous to that he was at Hugo Boss for 12 years.
