Ingrid Jackel is leaving her post at Physicians Formula and has been named chief executive officer at Yes To Inc.
In her new role, Jackel will be responsible for the expansion of North American and international distribution, while working closely with the management team to further strengthen the brand.
“It is time for me to nurture a new ‘baby,'” Jackel stated. “This baby has tremendous potential globally in all beauty categories, as Yes To resonates with Millennial consumers around the world addressing both their rational and emotional needs: a ‘super natural’ brand, on-trend but with a sense of humor, positive name and design and above all, giving.“
Previously, Jackel held various roles at Physicians Formula, including ceo, president and chairwoman. During her tenure, Jackel positioned Physicians Formula as one of the top 10 fastest-growing cosmetic companies in the food/drug/mass channel.
Many industry experts have described her as the heart and soul of the brand, so most are asking, why would she leave?
“I assume she lost her creative spot at [parent company] Markwins,” said a financial player who asked not to be identified. “It will be interesting to see what she can do at Yes To. Ingrid has also been viewed as a smart and really strong, creative person, but less so as a manager.”
One industry analyst noted that Physician’s Formula has been lackluster for so long, which is why Jackel left.
“Ingrid has served the Physicians Formula brand well,” said Bill George, president and chief operating officer at Markwins International. “Ingrid has reached a decision to pursue other options. We wish her well in her pursuits.”
In her prior experience, Jackel has served in previous leadership roles in the U.S. and France for brands like Avène, Elancyl and A-Derma of the Pierre Fabre Group.
