JDA Software announced today that chairman and chief executive officer Bal Dail is passing the baton to newly appointed Girish Rishi who hails from Tyco. The change is effective immediately, though Dail will stay on board through the duration of the first quarter to ensure a seamless transition.
“I am excited to lead JDA as its new ceo, and I thank Bal for his leadership and impact across all aspects of the business,” Rishi said. “Our customers are undergoing enormous change with omnichannel, new dynamics in the global supply chain and automation at the edge with a trend toward the Internet of Things, mobility and analytics. To that end, I look forward to building upon JDA’s demonstrated innovation and solutions capabilities, as we leverage our partner ecosystem to best serve our customers.”
JDA Software is primed for growth and innovation. Already a main player in the retail solutions market, Rishi’s appointment marks a next phase of advancement for JDA. The solutions provider hosts a plethora of services for its expansive client repertoire — from its cloud-based forecast and replenishment solution to inventory visibility and floor planning — JDA offers comprehensive answers for its customers.
Before his time at Tyco, Rishi served as vice president of enterprise at Motorola Solutions. There he transitioned the portfolio to new application frameworks for enhanced user experiences.
As seen during the 2017 NRF trade show, retailers and brands are in a current state of flux as they seek solutions to meet shifting consumer spending habits and saturated markets. Challenged by nimble start-ups and behemoths such as Amazon that feature its own fleet of delivery services, retailers and brands search for solutions to deepening obstacles to accurately pinpoint and communicate with end-shoppers and improve the entire purchasing experience.
Companies such as JDA Software come to the aid of faltering customers in order to stay afloat, and even thrive in arguably the most challenging landscape ever.
