Jeffrey Kuster has joined HSN Inc. as president of its Cornerstone unit.

Kuster was most recently executive vice president and chief marketing and strategy officer of Berkshire Hathaway’s Fruit of the Loom business. He will report to Mindy Grossman, chief executive officer of HSN.

Kuster will have responsibility for HSN’s home and apparel lifestyle brands, including Frontgate, Ballard Designs, Garnet Hill, Grandin Road and Chasing Fireflies.

Grossman said, “His background and experience in digitial commerce, strategic growth initiatives and lifestyle brand development will contribute to the continued growth and development of our overall business.”

Cornerstone’s direct-to-consumer business includes distribution of more than 320 million catalogues a year, and it operates eight e-commerce sites and 11 retail stores. Digital sales penetration represents 68 percent of the business. In the third quarter of the year, mobile commerce grew 20 percent to represent 15 percent of the division’s annual sales.

At Fruit of the Loom, Kuster was responsible for the Fruit of the Loom, Vanity Fair, Spalding and Russell Athletic brands. Earlier in his career, he was president of Vanity Fair Brands in Europe. He joined VF Corp. in 2001 after four years with McKinsey & Co. He has also worked at the World Bank, Doctors Without Borders, the Bureau of Labor Statistics and The Peace Corps.
