LONDON — Karl Lagerfeld BV, which encompasses the Karl, Karl Lagerfeld Paris and Lagerfeld lines, has appointed two new senior executives, effective immediately.


The company on Wednesday named Simona Clemenza its global sales director and Antonella di Pietro its business director for accessories. Both are new posts.


Clemenza is to focus on the global distribution strategy, alongside bringing strategic distribution partners on board and building a commercial team, the company said.


Previously, Clemenza was global commercial director for Kenzo, and has also held sales management roles at Blumarine and Gianfranco Ferre.


Di Pietro, meanwhile, is to lead a team that is developing footwear, handbag and accessories ranges for the company, which is set to launch for spring 2013. Di Pietro was most recently vice president for accessories and licensing at Kenzo, and prior to that had held the same position at Emilio Pucci.


Both executives, who will be based as the company’s corporate headquarters in Amsterdam, report to Pier Paolo Righi, president of Karl Lagerfeld.


“With their excellent skill set and experience, we position Karl Lagerfeld for continuous growth as we develop and expand our brands in world markets,” Righi stated.
