PARIS — Carlo Imò has been named head of Kering Asia-Pacific, effective Dec. 1.
Currently Kering’s vice president of human resources in Asia-Pacific, he is to oversee the international expansion of the French group’s brands in the region, which include Gucci, Bottega Veneta and Yves Saint Laurent. He reports to Jean-François Palus, group managing director.
Imò joined Kering in 2001, and served as worldwide Gucci general counsel and Asia-Pacific general counsel.
He succeeds Mimi Tang, who after 16 years spent with the group, is to move on to “a new chapter of her life.” She will remain a member of the board of the Kering Foundation, the company said.
“Mimi has been essential to the development of all our brands, more specifically Gucci, in the Asia-Pacific region. I would like to thank her for her commitment and wish her all the best in her future endeavors,” said François-Henri Pinault, Kering’s chairman and chief executive officer.
Pinault described Imò as “an asset for the prosperous development of our brands in Asia Pacific,” given his “extensive experience within the group and in the region.”
