PARIS—Lancel has named Fabrizio Cardinali its new chief executive officer, effective Oct. 1.

Cardinali, 43, joins the French leather goods firm, owned by the Richemont Group, from Dolce & Gabbana, where he held a variety of titles, including sales and marketing director.

Before that, Cardinali, an Italian national, held senior international positions at Diesel and Levi Strauss & Co.

“Fabrizio brings business expertise, industry insight and a proven track record in global brand building which will complement the creative direction established by Leonello Borghi,” said Marty Wikstrom, chief executive officer of Richemont fashion and accessories.

She added that Lancel possesses “significant potential for growth.”

At Lancel, Cardinali succeeds chief executive officer Marc Lelandais, who exited the company last January and recently took up a role at French retail group Vivarte.
