Leigh Harlan has been promoted to senior vice president, secretary and general counsel of Tiffany & Co.
Her appointment is effective May 22 when Patrick Dorsey, general counsel and secretary of the upscale jewelry retailer, retires after 29 years of service.
Like Dorsey, Harlan will report to Michael Kowalski, chairman and chief executive officer of the New York-based firm.
“Pat played a pivotal role in Tiffany’s initial public offering in 1987,” Kowalski said. “Beyond his keen legal mind, Pat is an astute business person, serving as an insightful and creative adviser over these many years.”
Harlan joined Tiffany in 2012 as associate general counsel from the New York-based law firm of Cravath, Swaine & Moore.
Kowalski said her tenure at Tiffany has been characterized by “a sharp, agile intellect, keen legal acumen and strong leadership skills.”
