L’Oréal USA has promoted Sumita Banerjee to senior vice president, talent acquisition for the Americas, effective immediately. She will report to Martial Lalancette, chief talent officer at L’Oréal Americas.
Banerjee was formerly vice president of talent acquisition for L’Oréal USA.
In the past five years, more than 2,200 new talents have been hired at L’Oréal USA under Banerjee’s leadership including interns and experienced hires.
In her new role, Banerjee will share key recruitment strategies, lead talent identification, support countries in their advancement of tools and expand best practices. Also, she will focus on the development of talent acquisition teams and recruitment skills.
Banerjee joined L’Oréal in 2000 as manager of package development at L’Oréal Paris, and in 2003 took on responsibility for cosmetics development. In 2004, Banerjee became the assistant vice president of development for the professional products division. She was later promoted to vice president of development for Maybelline New York and Garnier in 2006. Here, Banerjee built and led a diverse team with responsibility for global new-product launch management and ongoing product and package improvement for both brands.
Prior to joining L’Oréal, Banerjee spent nine years with three other consumer products organizations including Colgate-Palmolive, Estée Lauder and Bristol-Myers Squibb Worldwide Beauty Care.
