Marc Raffray is the new general manager of the Ritz Paris hotel

PARIS – Marc Raffray is joining the Ritz Paris as general manager.

He will start at his new position at the luxury hotel on August 19, according to a statement.

The Ritz Paris is a stone’s throw away from Raffray’s previous employer: He will be switching to the Place Vendôme, where the Ritz Paris is located, after spending nearly three years on the Place de la Concorde at the Crillon hotel, a mere half a mile away.

Raffray, who is British, joined the Crillon, part of the Rosewood Hotels and Resorts chain, in 2016 to oversee the hotel’s historic renovations.

Prior to that, he spent two years as general manager of the Four Seasons Hotel des Berges in Geneva, Switzerland.

“I wish to perpetuate the influence of this emblematic hotel,” said Raffray of the Ritz Paris, which is owned by Mohamed Al-Fayed.

“The excellence and the prestige of the Ritz Paris make it into a mythical location known throughout the world.”

Raffray replaces Christian Boyens at the Ritz Paris, who exited the company in March to join the hotel and management division of LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton.
