Martin Kaufmann has been named general manager of Aveda North America.
Kaufmann replaces Emmanuel Rey, who has left the company.
In this role, Kaufmann is charged with Aveda’s growth in North America, with oversight of the company’s retail and Institute businesses, its North American salon and spa sales, education, new business and applied marketing. He will report to Dominique Conseil, president of Aveda.
Most recently an industry consultant, Kaufmann has also served as managing director for Procter & Gamble Professional Care North America, overseeing Clairol Professional, Wella American Classics and Johnson Products, as well as being head of P&G’s Wella Professional business for Europe, MEA and Latin America.
“Martin’s leadership and industry expertise will further fuel Aveda’s momentum in the brand’s home market of North America,” stated Conseil. “He also comes to us with a strong passion for the brand’s mission.”
