LONDON — McArthurGlen, the designer outlet group, has named Susannah Bosanquet to the new post of director of communications and public relations. She started her role earlier this month, and reports to Shaeren McKenzie, the company’s group marketing director. The position has been created as a part of the company’s expansion plans.

Bosanquet most recently served as managing director of her own p.r. agency in Milan, where she represented clients including Bentley, Hugo Boss, Seven for All Mankind, Tommy Hilfiger and Abercrombie & Fitch. Previously she was communications director at Calvin Klein in Milan, where she led the brand and retail p.r. in Europe. She has held roles at Savoy Hotel Group and at Ogilvy Mather and worked at various agencies in Italy and the U.K.

Bosanquet will lead consumer, corporate, brand partner marketing and business-to-business communications initiatives and will become a member of the company’s executive team. She will oversee the in-house communications team, key regional offices and p.r. agencies in U.K., Germany, Italy, France, Canada, Russia, Korea and China.

“Following three years of consistently strong growth, with McArthurGlen’s total center turnover increasing by almost 30 percent, we are poised for our biggest program of expansion since we opened the first designer outlet in Europe in 1995,” said McKenzie. “Susannah will be a key member of the McArthurGlen management team as we deliver our mission to provide shoppers with the most exciting retail destinations and to drive value for our 900 luxury and premium brand partners around the world.”

The company currently manages 22 designer outlets in Austria, Belgium, Canada, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, the Netherlands and the UK. They stock some 900 luxury and premium brands, ranging from Giorgio Armani and Prada to J. Crew and Coach. Seven new outlets are currently under construction.
