A memorial service for men’s wear veteran William Henry FitzMaurice 3rd, will be held Nov. 23 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady Star of the Sea church in Stamford, Conn. FitzMaurice, 89, died on Oct. 15 at Pomperaug Woods, a retirement home in Southbury, Conn., according to an obituary in the Stamford Advocate.
Born and raised in Stamford, FitzMaurice attended St. Thomas Seminary and Columbia University and served in World War II, achieving the rank of Technical Sergeant 3 and serving with the 96th Signal Battalion, primarily in Burma.
