Wood has named Michael Topliss as head of global sales.

Topliss will be responsible for helping the California-based men’s underwear brand expand and strengthen its sales network. He will also contribute to the brand’s marketing, merchandising and product development.

“Wood is building a strong brand DNA that embraces its uniqueness and also has wide appeal to a variety of consumers,” said Topliss. “There is a culture around the brand that is both palpable and contagious.”

Topliss formerly served as a general merchandiser at Saxx underwear. Most recently he led North American sales for Pullin, a French men’s, women’s and children’s underwear brand.

Wood Underwear was founded by Terresa Zimmerman after her husband complained about his underwear. The collection includes underwear, loungewear and T-shirts. The line is available on its e-commerce site along with local specialty retailers and Equinox.
