Michele Norsa has been appointed a nonexecutive director of the board of Rocco Forte Hotels, which comprises 10 hotels and resorts across Europe.

Norsa will conclude his 10-year tenure as chief executive officer of Salvatore Ferragamo SpA on Aug. n2, to be succeeded by Eraldo Poletto. Norsa also  serves on the board of directors of Oettinger Davidoff AG and is a member of the International Advisory Board of the China Europe International Business School.

Before Ferragamo, Norsa helmed companies including Valentino Fashion Group SpA, Marzotto SpA, Benetton Sportsystem Active and Sandys (Sergio Tacchini).

“I greatly admire Rocco Forte Hotels and have always been keen to be involved in the luxury hotel industry,” Norsa said. “I believe my previous experience will serve me well in contributing to the board and adding value for the shareholders.”

Rocco Forte Hotels, established by Sir Rocco Forte and his sister Olga Polizzi in 1996, comprises Hotel de Russia, Rome; Hotel Savoy, Florence; Verdura Resort, Sicily; The Balmoral, Edinburgh; Brown’s Hotel, London; The Charles Hotel, Munich; Villa Kennedy, Frankfurt; Hotel de Rome, Berlin; Hotel Amigo, Brussels, and Hotel Astoria, St Petersburg. Future openings include locations in Jeddah in 2016 and Shanghai in 2018.
