Hugo Boss has been hit by additional high-profile departures.

On Friday, Ward Simmons, vice president of marketing and public relations for the Americas, sent a mass e-mail saying he was leaving the German brand after six-and-a-half years. His resignation follows that of Mark Brashear, who stepped down Tuesday as chairman and chief executive officer of the U.S. arm of the company.

Simmons’ e-mail said that despite “a lot of change in upper management at Hugo Boss” recently, his departure has been brewing for the past several months as he has “some family personal issues to deal with.” He could not be reached to comment further.

According to industry sources, neither resignation is related to poor quarterly performance or a major realignment of the American business, but they come as a result of a centralizing of the corporation at its Metzingen, Germany headquarters, leaving executives who had previously enjoyed some autonomy with more direct oversight.

In other personnel changes, Anton Magnani has stepped down as brand director of shoes and leather accessories. As of July 1, Anne-Cécile Poizat will join Boss in the new position of senior head of creative and brand management for women’s accessories. Poizat most recently held a similar position at Salvatore Ferragamo and prior to that at Céline. The new position of creative and brand manager for men’s accessories will be filled in the near future, the company said, noting the changes reflect a strategic upsizing and heightened focus on the brand’s accessories business.

Accessories operations, technical development and production management will remain under the direction of Francesco Scarpa, who together with Poizat and the men’s brand manager, will report to Christoph Auhagen, chief brand officer at Hugo Boss.
