Sebastiani, 32, succeeds Andrea Bucalossi, who along with business partner Fabio Leoncini still controls 70 percent of the fashion house. In October, Leoncini and Bucalossi sold 30 percent of Duemmei, which controls the Mr & Mrs Italy brand, to Chinese private equity firm Hony Capital.
A management engineering graduated from Rome’s Tor Vergata University, Sebastiani, who also earned a master’s degree in business management at the Roman LUISS University, joined Mr & Mrs Italy as chief operating officer in 2017. Previously, he held the roles of special project manager and retail performance manager at Loro Piana.
Mr & Mrs Italy, which is based in Rimini, opened its first freestanding store in 2014 in Milan. The brand is distributed worldwide through a network of more than 300 multibrand stores, along with operating several monobrand boutiques in New York, Aspen, Toronto, Beijing, Hong Kong and Shanghai.
