Under Armour has changed its top footwear executive.
The Baltimore-based activewear brand said Tuesday that Peter Ruppe has joined the company as senior vice president of footwear. He will be responsible for guiding the strategy, merchandising and development of all men’s, women’s and children’s footwear.
“Peter is one of the most respected and accomplished strategic leaders in the footwear space, with more than 25 years of unrivaled experience and success,” said Kip Fulks, Under Armour’s chief operating officer. “He has a commanding, entrepreneurial spirit and an eye for innovation that will be invaluable to Under Armour.”
Ruppe most recently served as president of Alchemy Global, an investment platform dedicated to the sports and entertainment industry. He had also spent 25 years at Nike.
Fulks will continue to oversee the company’s footwear division, which grew 50 percent in the third quarter, a spokeswoman said.
