Luxe Beauty Holdings Inc. has promoted Karl-Heinz Pitsch to the post of president and chief executive officer of the firm’s Sexy Hair hair care business. Pitsch had been chief operating officer since joining the Chatsworth, Calif.-based firm last November.
“Sexy Hair is a strong brand and it has a great distribution base,” said Pitsch. “We will capitalize on those assets and continue to invest in the technical and emotional relevance of our brand”
Prior to joining Sexy Hair, Pitsch served as general manager of the Estée Lauder’s Cos. Inc.’s Bumble and bumble hair care brand and he was also group president of the North and Latin American divisions of Wella Corp.
Sexy hair’s previous president and ceo, Jim Morrison, who had held the post since 2006, will remain a director of Sexy Hair and will also become the vice chairman of Luxe Beauty Holdings. He will act as an advisor to Pitsch.
Sexy Hair also said Thursday that former “American Idol” and country music singer Kellie Pickler — and Cheryl Burke of “Dancing with the Stars” — would front the brand for 2009. The Pickler and Burke deals call for them to be featured in Sexy Hair ad campaigns, promotional materials and publicity, the firm stated.
The brand’s products are used by celebrity stylist for a plethora of Hollywood genres such as reality, drama and late-night TV, and films. Its products, including Big, Curly, Healthy, Strong, Short, Silky, Straight and Simply Sexy Hair, Sex Symbol and Aero Tan are available in salons in more than 25 countries, according to the firm.
