Janet Dhillon has received President Trump’s nomination to chair the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.
Dhillon is executive vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary of Burlington Stores Inc. She led the legal department at J.C. Penney from February 2009 until March 2015.
The current acting chair is Victoria Lipnic. Lipnic would become a commissioner if Dhillon is confirmed. The term of current commissioner Jenny Yang is set to expire on July 1. The EEOC is a five-member commission.
If confirmed, Dhillon would serve a five-year term.
