PARIS — Rémy Gomez has left Beauté Prestige International (BPI), the fragrance division of Shiseido Co. Ltd., where he served as chief executive officer for 15 years.

During the current transition period, the company’s ceo role has been filled by Eric Henry, who also remains BPI’s chief operating officer.

Gomez departed from the firm on March 16.

The executive joined BPI from Hermès International, where he spearheaded the fragrance business.

It’s the latest step in a period of transition at Shiseido, which appointed a new president and ceo, Masahiko Uotani, last year. The executive is embarking on a major overhaul of the company with an emphasis on modernizing and internationalizing Shisiedo’s approach to organization, operations and marketing.
