Ryan Bonifacino, chief marketing officer at Alex and Ani, resigned this week.
Credited with much of the brand’s growth in the digital and social space, Bonifacino is reported to have left to complete his MBA. Before joining the Rhode Island-based accessories brand, he was in the process of getting his MBA at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He left in 2010 to take a job at Alex and Ani, where he held the role as senior vice president of digital before named chief marketing officer. Bonifacino will still remain in an advisory role for the rest of the year.
“Alex and Ani’s rapid growth — from a $20 million business in 2011 to a $350 million business this year — has in no small part been based on our ongoing digital commitment, and Ryan has been an important part of that,” said Harlan Kent, president of Alex and Ani.
Bonifacino could not be reached for comment.
