Riccardo Vannetti

MILAN — As part of the ongoing changes in its structure, the Florence-based Salvatore Ferragamo Group has looked to another organization in the city, tapping Pitti Immagine’s Riccardo Vannetti as chief marketing officer, effective July 5.

Vannetti succeeds Antonio Burrello, who, as reported, is exiting after a tenure of 18 months. Vannetti will report to Salvatore Ferragamo vice chairman, brand and product director James Ferragamo.

The executive has been director of Pitti Immagine’s Tutorship consultancy service for fashion designers since January 2016. In a separate statement, Pitti said the Tutorship team will continue to manage existing relations and collaborations with emerging brands under the temporary supervision of Pitti Immagine’s general director and the organization’s communication and events director with the support of Vannetti until Oct. 30.

With a degree in art history, Vannetti started his professional activity as a freelance journalist, moving on to managerial positions in Condé Nast, Dismi Int’l, Value Retail and Core-Capital Equity Fund. He later consolidated his experience by providing support and strategic advice to fashion designers.

Vannetti’s arrival at Salvatore Ferragamo is aimed at strengthening the managerial structure of the group, which is in the midst of a relaunch strategy, spearheaded by executive chairman Ferruccio Ferragamo following the exit in March of former chief executive officer Eraldo Poletto, who is now at Stuart Weitzman.
