Riccardo Sciutto has been appointed chief executive officer of Sergio Rossi, effective April. This confirms a WWD fashions scoop that first appeared on Feb. 11.

Sciutto was previously general manager of Hogan. The company characterized this as “the first important step of the development and growth plan set for the historic Italian luxury shoemaker.”

European investment house Investindustrial took control of Sergio Rossi in December from its previous owner, Kering. Fashion executive Andrea Morante was tapped as chairman to help reshape the course of company. At the end of last year, Morante left his role as ceo of Italian jewelry company Pomellato, which he joined in 2009.

Angelo Ruggeri is creative director of Sergio Rossi. According to a Barclays’ estimate last year, the brand has revenues of about 71 million euros.
