Shelley Rozenwald, a 30-year veteran of beauty retailing, has joined The Bay as the head of the beauty operation of the Canadian department store chain. Her title is chief beauty adventurer, a designation applied in various forms to about 200 of the store’s top executives as a reference to the origins of the parent company, the Hudson’s Bay Co.
Rozenwald last worked as the president of Murale, a chain of high-end beauty and wellness stores launched in November 2008 by the innovative Shoppers Drug Mart Corp. Previously, she had a lengthy career at Holt Renfrew as senior vice president of cosmetics.
Bonnie Brooks, president and chief executive officer of The Bay, stated, “As one of the most reputable prestige beauty merchants in the world, we’re confident Shelley will spearhead our cosmetics business to a new pinnacle of innovation industrywide, not only in Canada.”
The Bay has 92 locations stretching across Canada.
