Smith & Cult has appointed Jeanne Chavez as president of its edgy nail-lacquer range and vice president of retail development for the brand’s owner, Luxury Brand Partners. Effective Jan. 1, the Hard Candy cofounder’s task will be to develop Smith & Cult and consult on retail growth for existing and future brands for Luxury Brand Partners.

“[Chavez] is a creative force with incredible insight and a gut instinct for the business,” said Tevya Finger, president and chief executive officer of Luxury Brand Partners. “We know that Jeanne’s talent, resources, connections and insight will continue to bring new branded opportunities to market and further develop our reach throughout the retail and professional industries.”

Chavez previously served as president of Lancer Skincare to facilitate a multiyear relaunch project, overseeing industry relations, sales, marketing and public-relations efforts.

Prior to that, she launched Goldie, a color cosmetics line, with Dineh Mohajer, cofounder of Smith & Cult.
