Keanan Duffty has joined the San Francisco fashion, art and designer publication, Soma magazine, as senior contributing fashion editor.

Duffty will continue as senior director of fashion merchandising at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, and as the global design director for Moods of Norway, a European fashion brand.

Duffty, a graduate of Central Saint Martins in London, has designed his own collections and consulted for brands including Ben Sherman, Reebok, Dr. Martens and Target. In 2009, Rizzoli published Duffty’s first book, “Rebel Rebel: Anti-Style,” and he is putting the finishing touch on a documentary about Malcolm McLaren called “Spectacular Failure.”

“I am [pleased] to have Keanan on board,” said Soma’s publisher, Ali Ghanbarian. “He will be an enormous asset in helping the Soma team to continue our tradition as a worthy cultural voice for all that is creative and avant-garde, providing a platform for emerging talent and balancing each issue with profiles of icons and legends of the creative community.”
