BERLIN — In a further restructuring of the German fashion company Strenesse, luxury veteran Gabriella Schnitzler is joining the Nordlingen-based firm in the new position of director of sales.
Schnitzler was ceo, Western and Eastern Europe, for Prada until the end of 2011, and prior to that served as chief executive of Louis Vuitton in Germany and Austria.
In her new position, she will focus on Strenesse’s international wholesale expansion, above all in Italy, Japan, the U.S., Russia and the Middle East, as well as building up the company’s retail network in Europe. Strenesse directly operates 13 stores.
Schnitzler reports to Luca Strehle, who took over as Strenesse’s ceo from his father and company founder, Gerd Strehle, last April. As reported, Gabriele Strehle, the brand’s creative director for the last 30 years, is leaving the company at the end of the year.
In other changes, the secondary and more sporty women’s line, Strenesse Blue, is to be shuttered. As of the fall/winter 2013 season, only one women’s wear collection, encompassing both business and more casual looks, will be offered under the Strenesse label. Strenesse men’s wear and accessories will continue.
