PARIS — As the ski season approaches, The North Face has appointed Jan van Leeuwen vice president, general manager, The North Face, EMEA Region.
Van Leeuwen, who joined parent company VF Corp. in 2011, rising through the ranks at Vans, another brand in its stable, most recently serving as vice president, general manager, will also serve on the global leadership team for The North Face, the brand said Thursday.
His remit will include translating the global strategy into effective consumer engagement and marketplace execution, and driving the brand’s momentum, building on 11 consecutive quarters of double-digit growth in the EMEA region.
“His extensive experience in the retail industry combined with his proven track record of business results make him the ideal person to lead our iconic The North Face brand in the EMEA region,” said Martino Scabbia Guerrini, group president, VF EMEA.
As an avid runner and skier, Van Leeuwen said he is “looking forward to unlocking new opportunities, both on and off the mountain, through new and innovative products that empower people to push the boundaries of exploration.”
