Ferdinand van Alphen has joined the Tommy Bahama Group as vice president of creative services. He will be based at the company’s Seattle headquarters and will report to Terry Pillow, chief executive officer.

“The Tommy Bahama brand is our most valuable asset and I’m excited to have someone as talented as Ferdinand join our team to help bring it to life,” said Pillow. “This job requires an understanding of our rich history and the ability to translate our aesthetic to all facets of the company. I think Ferdinand is a perfect fit.”

Van Alphen will be responsible for creating a consistent creative message and branding strategies for all channels of the Tommy Bahama business, including men’s and women’s wholesale, retail, e-commerce, licensing and restaurants. He will also oversee advertising, brand imagery, visual merchandising and creative services.

Van Alphen has more than 20 years of experience in the creative industry, including senior positions at Tommy Hilfiger in the U.S. and Europe, as well as agencies in the Netherlands, New York and Hong Kong. Most recently, he owned a creative consulting agency and worked on projects for Vertu mobile phones, Boss fragrance, Pringles and Liebeskind Berlin, among others.
