Tony D’Annibale, president of Jessica’s Brands, has been named to the Loehmann’s advisory board. D’Annibale was chief merchandising officer at Rue La La, and before that was executive vice president of merchandising at Loehmann’s for over 20 years when it was under prior ownership.
Loehmann’s, founded in 1921 by Frieda Loehmann, shuttered its doors in 2013 following its bankruptcy filing. Hedge fund Esopus Creek Value Series Fund acquired the intellectual property in January 2014. The management team is building the retail nameplate as an online operation.
“His experience with digital retail, as well as his background in merchandising, makes him a ideal addition to our team,” said Andrew L. Sole, managing member of Esopus Creek Advisors LLC, the investment advisor to the Esopus fund.
Jessica’s is a distributor of contemporary apparel brands to the off-price market.
