Trina Turk has appointed Jacqueline Hickey as chief executive officer, effective immediately.
Hickey takes over the role from designer and founder Trina Turk, who had served as the company’s chief executive officer since launching the brand in 1995. Turk will focus on her role as creative director for the brand.
“Jackie’s multifaceted expertise and understanding of the brand make her the ideal leader for the Trina Turk and Mr Turk teams. I look forward to focusing on the creative, while Jackie takes over the business and operational aspects of our company. We’re excited to have a female ceo with Jackie’s qualifications,” Turk said.
Hickey most recently comes from Bebe Stores Inc., where she served as vice president of merchandising. Prior to Bebe, Hickey held numerous positions at Guess including vice president of women’s wholesale and vice president/general merchandising manager of women’s retail.
“I am very excited to step into this role and lead the talented Trina Turk team,” Hickey said. “This is a brand that I have admired for many years for its upbeat and colorful signature style. It was apparent when speaking with Trina and Jonathan [Skow] that we share the same cultural values for the company and vision for the brand.”
Inspired by California’s vibrant multicultural mix, architecture and landscape, Trina Turk delivers 11 collections of women’s ready-to-wear and dresses annually. Other categories include swimwear, Mr Turk men’s wear, jewelry, eyewear and residential soft goods.
The brand has boutiques in Burlingame and Manhattan Beach, Calif., Dallas and Houston. Dual Trina Turk/Mr Turk boutiques are located in Atlanta, Charlotte, Honolulu, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, Palm Springs and Palm Desert, Calif. Scottsdale is due to open in November.
