LONDON — Value Retail, which develops and operates outlet shopping villages across Europe, has made three appointments to its senior management team.
“The appointment of industry specialists is clearly reflective of Value Retail’s commitment towards taking our nine international shopping destinations to a new level,” said Desirée Bollier, chief executive officer, Value Retail management.“These additions add experience and depth to our leadership team, and will be significant in the way we serve our brand partners and deliver the leading luxury outlet experience for our global shoppers.”
James Bidwell, formerly managing director of Anthropologie Europe and ceo of Visit London, has been appointed chief marketing officer. He will oversee all marketing, branding and communications across the nine outlet villages and in China, where Value Retail is planning to open phase one of Suzhou Village, near Shanghai, in 2013.
Bidwell said his role is about “positioning the business and the brand for the future, and attracting high-value and international customers to the villages.”
Bidwell left Anthropologie Europe in May 2010 and since then has been consulting for companies privately
Value Retail has named Patricia Diamond to the post of business director, with the role of leading operational efficiencies across the villages. Diamond was an operating board director at Mothercare, the British retailer, and served as vice president, chief financial officer at L’Erin Cosmetics Company.
Jean-Christophe Descas has been named group commercial director. He formerly held positions at Gap and Marks & Spencer, and most recently was vice president, sales and business development for Alain Figaret, the French luxury shirt brand.
